A native of Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, and a 2015 graduate with honors from American Military University with a bachelor’s degree in homeland security, Command Master Chief Van-Troi SibiliaMartinez enlisted in the U.S. Navy in August of 1999 as a Hospital Corpsman.
At sea, he served with Weapons Company, 1st Battalion 2nd Marines, II Marine Division; Senior Enlisted Leader (SEL) for Combined Joint Special Forces Forward Surgical Team in the Uruzgan province, Afghanistan; as Medical SEL of the Chemical Biological Incident Response Force; and as Command Master Chief of USS TULSA Littoral Combat Ship (LCS 16). During these tours, he deployed in support of Operations Iraqi Freedom (2003), Operation Enduring Freedom (2009), Operation Tomodachi (2011), and commissioning of LCS 16.
His shore tours include service as line corpsman for India Company, Marine Corps Officer Candidate School; leading petty officer (LPO) for the Navy Medical Research Center; Recruit Division Commander at Recruit Training Command; LPO of Navy Recruit Training Command School; LCPO of Recruit Fitness Division; SEL of three Branch Health Clinics in support of Naval Support Activity South Potomac; and CMC of Navy Talent Acquisition Group Empire State.
He completed his previous tour on board USS Mustin as the Command Master Chief and reported as CMC of Recruit Training Command in December 2022.
He was the Honor Graduate from the Navy Senior Enlisted Academy, Class 167 (Khaki) in 2012, and completed the Command Master Chief/Chief of the Boat course in 2016. He received the League of United Latin American Citizens (LULAC) Leadership Award in 2008, and the “Doc Eagles” award in 2005.
SibiliaMartinez has been awarded the Bronze Star Medal with Valor, Meritorious Service Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (fifth award), the Army Commendation Medal, the Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal (second award), the Combat Action Ribbon, the Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal, various other unit and campaign awards, and he is a proud plank owner of USS Tulsa (LCS 16).
