Petty Officer Epps enlisted in the Navy in November 2002 completing recruit training and seaman apprentice training in Great Lakes, Illinois.

After completing Seaman ATD School, she continued to her first command, USS BRISCOE (DD 977), Norfolk, Virginia where she was assigned to Deck Department.  After the decommissioning of BRISCOE, she transferred to USS WINSTON S CHURCHILL (DDG 81), Norfolk, Virginia, where she struck out of Deck Department and was assigned to Repair Division where she advanced to Third Class Petty Officer.  In 2006, Petty Officer Epps reported to USS MAHAN (DDG 72), Norfolk, Virginia where she was assigned as a Work Center Supervisor for three work centers within Repair Division.  While there, she was advanced to Second Class Petty Officer.  After her successful tour on MAHAN, Petty Officer Epps received orders to Recruit Training Command Great Lakes, Illinois.  Prior to reporting, she attended Journeyman Instruction Training earning the Navy Enlisted Classification 9502 (Instructor).  She currently serves as an instructor with the Fire Fighting Training Division.

Petty Officer Epps personal decorations include Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal(five), Good Conduct Medal (two), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Global War On Terrorism Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment (three awards)and various other unit awards.
